Will there be a https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/AS72/Documentation
clone of https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/AS71/Documentation?

I don't know.

I do plan to port https://docs.jboss.org/author/display/AS71/Getting+Started+Developing+Applications+Guide to the guides system we use with jdf at some point soon.

+1, I also need to add some documentation to configure a JMS Bridge which is a 7.2 feature.

Can that github repo be configured to auto redirect (301) to the new
repo? That way the various documentation/articles can still rely on the
older links? For example this is now broken
https://github.com/jbossas/quickstart/blob/master/ejb-remote.

Re: Quickstarts & Archetypes - repo moved

I don't think so, afaik redirects are not possible.

Where are we getting broken links?

Re: Quickstarts & Archetypes - repo moved

Sande Gilda
In reply to this post by Pete Muir
Pete, I think any documents that point to a particular quickstart in the
old repo will be broken.

For example, when I click on the ejb-remote in the new
jboss-jdf/jboss-as-quickstart directory, it takes me here:
https://github.com/jboss-jdf/jboss-as-quickstart/tree/master/ejb-remote

The equivalent URL for the old repo is this:
https://github.com/jjbossas/quickstart/tree/master/ejb-remote

When you click on it, you get a broken link.

Yes it will.

I'm trying to update all the docs I know of, so if anyone finds stuff that is broken, please fix it, or send me a mail to make me fix it :-D

Yes, so I need to fix the source of the link.

GitHub doesn't support redirecting repos :-(

What to do to get local clones working with the new repo?

Re: Quickstarts & Archetypes - repo moved

Pete Muir
Assuming the remote is named upstream:

git remote rm upstream
git remote add -f upstream https://github.com/jboss-jdf/jboss-as-quickstart.git

If it's named something else, change the word upstream for the name.

Re: Quickstarts & Archetypes - repo moved

Sande Gilda
This is what I did: (from https://help.github.com/articles/changing-a-remote-s-url)
git remote set-url upstream https://github.com/jboss-jdf/jboss-as-quickstart.git
It seems to be working. Is this OK?
